Obama 24/7

by Jim on Jun.16, 2009, under Entertainment, Politics

There are so many critical things happening in the world that I was stunned to find CNBC joining in the abject adulation of all things Obama. The clip below is a truly mindless event, but because it is the president, this president, it becomes a marquee event.

Even liberal stalwarts like Bill Maher are criticizing the constant exposure of this president. You cant turn around without seeing him or his wife doing something, being awarded something, or announcing something. It is getting so that I hate to turn on the TV because he or she are always there. Thank God they haven’t made it to the Food network yet, the only safe place from Obamamania.

Tonight the female Obama received a style award from the fashion industry in New york. For what? I couldn’t even enjoy Heidi Klum without an Obama interfering!
Perhaps this overexposure will backfire, but he sure seems to enjoy talking. Too bad whenever he announces something it scares me. Maybe he should stick to killing flies. Don’t mind the advert on this clip.. it came from CNBC.

My new hero

by Jim on Feb.22, 2009, under Politics

My new hero is Rick Santelli of CNBC. If you haven’t listened to his battle cry on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade last week, you can view it below. Bottom line, here is an economist with credibility and guts challenging the president’s  housing bailout plan.  And what does Santelli get for it? Pummeled by the White house and his own network, and attacked on the Sunday talk shows. I guess he must have hit a nerve?

The president is addressing both houses of congress this week. I cant wait to hear how often he uses the words crisis and  catastrophe. We want hope! Isn’t that what he ran on?  I’ll  be waiting to see how inspirational he is. I won’t hold my breath though, and I suspect neither will Wall Street where all of our IRA’s continue to plummet. In the meantime, the American people are starting to wise up. With patriots like Santelli willing to go head on against the establishment, maybe there is hope.
