Home Again

by on Apr.09, 2012, under Politics, Travel

Well, vacation is over and I am  back in the mountain bunker ready to take on all comers.  I was out of the country for a few weeks  and appreciate Paul doing great work filling in.

In addition to exploring Senor Frogs in Mexico again,   I got to sail through the Panama Canal, and  also explore incredible Cartagena. What a treasure trove of adventures we have right in our own backyard.

I am saddened that for most of my life I paid no attention to Central and Southern America.  I intend to make up for that now, and encourage you also to explore some wonderful places to our south.

Now that I am back, I see that Obama has not yet been impeached; Biden is still not in an insane asylum;  the democrats have still not passed a budget; Rick Santorum still hasn’t learned the value  of leaving a campaign with dignity;  Eric Holder had his voting identity stolen; and James Bond will now drink Heinekens in his next movie.

Of all these issues, the one that is the most distressing is  tinkering with James Bond. He does not drink beer. It is a dry martini, shaken not stirred. How can they do this?  It was bad enough that they made  ”M” a woman.  ”M” was not a woman.  Now a beer drinking Bond? What is the world coming to?  Please let’s regain our sanity and restore the space program, our nuclear arsenal, and rebuild the military like the good old  James Bond- Cold war days.  At least we felt comfortable then.   Its good to be back!

A Moron and an Ass

by on Mar.20, 2012, under Politics

Where does one  begin with this crop of Democrats and their supporters,  to find just one moron and one ass to select for today?  It is a target rich environment. But  two have stood out:  Joe Biden and Robert De Niro And they stand out by a mile.

First,  Joe Biden. Quite honestly I cannot believe that any serious journal would ever envision him as  capable of being vice president. Why they didn’t scream bloody murder that he was unqualified  is another of those shameful secrets they will have to live with. They balked at just about every  investigative journalistic responsibility in 2008. They not only failed to properly vet the president,  and still haven’t, but ignored the non-existent  qualifications of his would be successor. Yet Sarah Palin was trashed.

The  latest moronic statement by the Vice President  was that getting  Bin Laden was “the most audacious plan in 500 years.”  This man is so out of touch with reality it isnt funny anymore. He used to be excused as he was an avuncular old man who really meant no harm. Well, he is a heartbeat away from the White House and he is a moron.

I asked my long suffering wife who is no student of military history, to list as many audacious military plans she could think of in one minute. She came up with half a dozen in sixty seconds; none of which involved getting Bin Laden.

The ass for today is Robert De Niro who said at an Obama fundraiser that it was “too soon for a white first lady.”  How can anyone be so stupid and brain addled that they would even say something so blatantly racist and insulting? Only a democrat of course. And other than the Obama campaign saying they don’t agree with it, everyone had a good laugh.  Of course,  there will be no price to pay for this outrageous racial remark. I am glad the left doesn’t stereotype or play the race card.

On a final note ,  Obama  will keep the one million dollars donated to him by hack comedian  Bill Maher.  According to David Axelrod, Obama’s mouthpiece, there is no comparison to Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke  a slut, and comedian Bill Maher calling someone a C—, demeaning handicapped children, and referring to  one of the Palin’s as being F’d so hard a baby came out. Yes, Axelrod thinks Limbaugh’s slut comment is worse. What a group we have running our country.

Random Musings

by on Dec.21, 2011, under Intelligence / National Security, Politics

It’s always a treat to receive contributions from readers for the blog. Today we have a series of observations by Paul on a variety of topics.  Thanks for sharing Paul. Enjoy!

Random Musings

Chutzpah:  The traditional tongue-in-cheek definition of chutzpah is a person who murders both
his parents, then throws himself on the mercy of the court because he is an orphan.  That definition has now been superseded.  This week, the Taliban requested the United Nations and other international organizations investigate the US invasion of Iraq, ostensibly because the US killed Iraqis.  Coming from a group that routinely assassinates Afghan government officials, has sent an eight-year-old girl to her death (unknowingly) with a parcel bomb, terrorizes civilians, stones women, throws acid in the face of schoolgirls, and much more, such a request is simply breathtaking.  If the UN seriously considers the Taliban request — thereby ascribing moral equivalency between the US government and a terrorist government in exile — it marks the last nail in the coffin of the UN, a fitting end to the fiction that this organization is anything but a sham and a shill for Third World despots.

Kim Jong Newt:
The death of the Dear Leader did not sadden many people, but it seems that at least one Republican candidate would like to take a page from the former’s book.  Newt Gingrich announced this week that he would send Federal Marshals to bring justices to appear before Congress if they failed to answer a subpoena regarding “controversial rulings” (Gingrich’s words).  For someone who claims intellectual superiority, I wonder what part of the Constitution he does not understand.  I also wonder if his threat would apply to Supreme Court Justices. If such a policy had been in force in 1954, I could envision the Justices in Brown v the Topeka Board of Education being hauled before Congress.  If any single statement were enough to disqualify a candidate from serious consideration, this would seem to be it (sadly, though, people will continue to support Gingrich’s candidacy).

Foot-in-Mouth Disease (Again):  Last week during an interview, Vice President Biden stated “…the Taliban, per se, is not our enemy.”  Flash to the VP: it is our enemy.  The 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force defined the enemy as, inter alia, those who “…aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 or harbored such organizations.”  Unless the VP is engaged in revisionist history, the Taliban gave sanctuary and training facilities to al Qaeda, thereby making the Taliban a legitimate target of US military operations.  Does the VP really believe that the Taliban will eschew its radical ideology (see “Chutzpah,” above) if it returns to power?   Does he see any intellectual disconnect between dropping bombs on the Taliban, and not considering them the enemy?  I guess nothing should surprise me from an administration that refuses to use the word “terrorism,” that avoids any mention of Islamic fundamentalism as a cause for terrorism, and now cannot even call our enemy an enemy.

The National Menorah:    On Tuesday, several Rabbis and the Head of the Organization of Management and Budget lit the National Menorah on the grounds of the Ellipse in front of the White House.  A military service band performed during the ceremony.  Of note, the National Christmas Tree was dedicated in the same area last week.  I wonder where Mikey Weinstein is when we really need him.  After all, the Ellipse is federal property, administered by the National Park Service.  The amount of coverage and publicity of the Christmas Tree and Menorah far exceed the paltry display at Travis Air Force Base, over which Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation is suing.  Why isn’t Weinstein suing over the very prominent presence of a military band at the Menorah event?  Could it be that Mikey (what adult calls himself “Mikey”?) actually has more of a beef with the Air Force than with the display of religion.  It makes me wonder what intellectual and emotional baggage Weinstein carries from his time in the service that gave him a free education and paid for his law school degree.
