What are a few mistakes among friends?
by Jim on Mar.01, 2010, under Politics
Here is an excerpt from professor emeritus, the grand poo-bah of green, former VP Albert J Gore’s op ed in todays New York Times:
“I, for one, genuinely wish that the climate crisis were an illusion. But unfortunately, the reality of the danger we are courting has not been changed by the discovery of at least two mistakes in the thousands of pages of careful scientific work over the last 22 years by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. In fact, the crisis is still growing because we are continuing to dump 90 million tons of global-warming pollution every 24 hours into the atmosphere — as if it were an open sewer.
It is true that the climate panel published a flawed overestimate of the melting rate of debris-covered glaciers in the Himalayas, and used information about the Netherlands provided to it by the government, which was later found to be partly inaccurate. In addition, e-mail messages stolen from the University of East Anglia in Britain showed that scientists besieged by an onslaught of hostile, make-work demands from climate skeptics may not have adequately followed the requirements of the British freedom of information law.
But the scientific enterprise will never be completely free of mistakes. What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged.”
Ok , we are supposed to forget the mistakes, the infighting, the lies, and trust these people as being the experts? Why, because Al said so and Al never makes a mistake… oh wait a sec, I forgot he misrepresented facts himself in Copenhagen and his movie has been torn apart by critics in Britain and the United States for being misleading and untruthful. But other than that, why shouldn’t we trust him? Call me old fashioned, but I kind of like honesty and sincerity, and I don’t think there is a lot of that to spare in Mr Gore. If you have the time and energy, read all of Al’s article in the Sunday times. It is a doozy!
Factual mistatement or lie ?

The following excerpt is from a Times of London on-line article reporting yet another fraudulent claim uncovered on global warming. I repeat my earlier assertion that I am willing to listen to and consider hard evidence that A. there is something abnormal going on and B. this is being caused by man made hydrocarbons. What I vehemently object to is being forced to accept assertions from the likes of none other than Albert J Gore Jr that the end is near when there is legitimate dispute in the scientific community. I also object to the dismissal of all arguments countering this, exaggerated claims by global warming adherents, and blatant mistruths such as what we have here. If you wish to read the whole article, the link is the following:Â

“The UN’s top climate change body has issued an unprecedented apology over its flawed prediction that Himalayan glaciers were likely to disappear by 2035.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said yesterday that the prediction in its landmark 2007 report was “poorly substantiated†and resulted from a lapse in standards. “In drafting the paragraph in question the clear and well-established standards of evidence, required by the IPCC procedures, were not applied properly,†the panel said. “The chair, vice-chair and co-chairs of the IPCC regret the poor application of IPCC procedures in this instance.â€
The stunning admission is certain to embolden critics of the panel, already under fire over a separate scandal involving hacked e-mails last year.
The 2007 report, which won the panel the Nobel Peace Prize, said that the probability of Himalayan glaciers “disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very highâ€. It caused shock in Asia, where about two billion people depend on meltwater from Himalayan glaciers for their fresh water supplies during the dry seasons.
“I have not made any prediction on date as I am not an astrologer but I did say they were shrinking fast,†he said. “I have never written 2035 in any of my research papers or reports.†Professor Hasnain works for The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in Delhi, which is headed by Rajendra Pachauri, head of the climate change panel.
Where is Mr Gore?

If you  only read the formerly mainstream media, you will not notice the tsunami that has overtaken the global warming crowd. Thankfully someone in England managed to expose the collusion  and suppression of evidence that has been rampant for years in this area. Emails from scientists, academicians and global warming hucksters have been brought to light which confirm that there is a definite problem with their supposed evidence. Unfortunately, news outlets like the NY Times will not print these emails because they were not for public consumption. Oh , but what about Sarah Palins private emails? or the stolen Pentagon Papers,? or any of a number of classified documents that find their way to its front page? Their hypocrisy disgusts me.
However, I am willing  to overlook it tonight because even they will not be able to right the sinking ship of scientific malfeasance. One cannot ignore the evidence that is now being revealed that we were being hoodwinked. And the leader of this cabal is none other than Mr Al Gore. Which reminds me, where is he to defend this inconvenient lie?  Just the sound of silence.
