Algae to the Rescue

by on Feb.23, 2012, under Intelligence / National Security, Politics, Uncategorized

Gasoline prices here are over $3.00 a gallon. The national average is over $3.50. In California it is over $4.00, and in some places in Florida it is over $5.00! In answer to this the President  said today  that he is doing everything he can to stimulate production (really?), and followed up with this bizarre suggestion:

“We’re making new investments in the development of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance, algae — you’ve got a bunch of algae out here,” Obama said at the University of Miami today. “If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we’ll be doing alright. Believe it or not, we could replace up to 17 percent of the oil we import for transportation with this fuel that we can grow right here in America.”

Yes folks , we are now moving from wind, solar and electric to algae. Since all the other solutions have been so successful, it seems that we will now waste our dwindling resources on another pipe-dream of the environmentalists.

It is beyond insanity. The average American is being squeezed unmercifully  due to high gas prices, yet this administration has strangled drilling, pipelines, and leasing.  Where is the outrage!  And today’s proclamation is another  slap in the face of the average American.

I thought it was interesting that the White House said that the extension of the payroll tax cut last week would help Americans pay for the higher gas prices. Now I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but how is keeping what you were already making going to offset increased gas prices in the future?  Nowhere but in Obamaworld.

Yes a world where the president of the United States apologizes to a bunch of thugs in Afghanistan while they murder US servicemen in cold blood because of  “outrage ” over the handling of the Koran.  Paul’s article yesterday was right on target. It is sickening.  Our hope now is for a new administration to attempt to undo the insanity.

Enjoy the late winter weekend ahead and gather up whatever algae you can. Remember this is an investment in our children’s future.  I just have to figure out where  the algae live .

Windmills of his mind

by on Apr.06, 2011, under Politics

I am now convinced that this president is completely out of touch with reality. For example, in the midst of a looming econimic crisis, he jets off to propose more spending on green energy projects and education.  I am reminded of the song from the Thomas Crown Affair, “ the windmills of your mind.” I think he has windmills in his mind!

He also indicated that we should get used to high gas prices and there is nothing he can do to reverse them. Oh really? Has he heard of drilling? Heck even the Cubans are beginning exploratory drilling in the Gulf.  His goal is millions of electric cars. This has always been the objective of the environmental lobby. They hate oil, are outraged at our driving habits, big cars, and consider high gas prices a means to an end.  How much are you paying now? Are you happy about this?

Speaking of windmills, it appears now the intervention in  Libya might be as effective as Don Quixote tilting at his windmills. I heard today that the Libyan rebels or freedom fighters or whomever they are, are upset at NATO and are running out of money. Our air force is reportedly spending $4million a day there and I still have no clue what our objective is.  Now that the Nobel Peace Prize winning president has gotten us stuck in a civil war, what does the leader of the free world propose to do?  Oh, I forgot, he is busy tonight at a dinner honoring that great patriot Al Sharpton’s organization in New York. I am sure glad he has his priorities set.  Please remind me again why he deserves re-eelction?

Debt Crisis

by on Jan.04, 2011, under Politics

Here are some thoughts on the question of raising the  national debt ceiling . The Obama administration is calling it catastrophic if it doesn’t happen.

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

That quote was from Senator Barack Obama when he was in the senate in 2006 and voted against raising the debt ceiling when the Bush administration was in office.  Hypocritical?  Yes.  Patently political? Yes. Disingenuous? Yes.  But so typical of this administration.

Oh and by the way , oil  is  close to $100 a barrel again and gasoline is over $3 a gallon in many parts of the country. I seem to recall that when this happened under the previous administration, the democrats and the  so called mainstream media were apoplectic. Where is the outcry today? Will they continue to cover up and protect the failings of this regime?  I think we all know the answer to that.
