News or Political Assassination?
by Jim on Jun.13, 2011, under Politics
I read with continuing disbelief the efforts of the New York Times, the Washington Post and other formerly respected news organizations to investigate the emails of Sarah Palin . Wow, I guess that really is news these days! Obviously there is nothing else worthy of investigating than the old emails of a political personage they love to despise and mock. Well in my mind, the joke is on them. They have made a mockery of serious journalism. The Post has even parceled out the emails to independent readers to scrub them for anything that might be of interest (read embarrassing) to the former governor.
They claim there is just too much to review. So I guess their full time investigators were too busy with John Edwards? No, the Enquirer broke that one. How about Andrew Weiner? No, Breitbart broke that one. You know, I cant even remember when the formerly respected press broke anything of any seriousness. They wait for whistle blowers, disgruntled employees or traitors to divulge what they claim we have a right to know. This, no matter what damage it does to national security. Look for example at how quickly they disregarded the pleas by NSA not to reveal the financial data they were going after in terrorist investigations. We obviously needed to know that even though it told the terrorists exactly what was being targeted. How about investigating union ties to Obama and the democrats , kickbacks and sweetheart deals over health care and health insurance, the lies about the stimulus and the auto bailout, select financial institutions getting preferential treatment. But sadly, this just isnt going to happen.
My friends who believe the NY Times and Washington Post remain institutions of record for the country can now see them for what they have become: partisan muckraking shells of their former selves. In the case of Sarah Palin they are engaging in nothing more than a political vendetta against an individual. Is this news or mockery? If they had a shred of decency they would have accorded the same treatment to Barack Obama. But he is totally off limits for investigative journalism. Perhaps because they suspect what they would find. I am furious that we have a president who has not undergone standard presidential scrutiny. What about Columbia, his time in California or Hawaii, his writings, his papers his friends? It is a disgrace!, I thank God we have the Internet as at least some people can investigate and spread the word about this administration.
When will the media wake up to their buffoonery? Perhaps it is too late; they are dinosaurs and they are dying. They had a good run, but they killed themselves.
A Disgraceful attack on Sarah Palin
by Jim on Dec.14, 2010, under Politics
Anyone who thinks Sarah Palin can ever get a fair deal from the media in this country just has to look at the hit job done on her by the AP while she was in Haiti this weekend. That’s right , she was visiting cholera clinics with Franklin Graham. But for the insidious left wing media, anything is grist to tear her down, no matter how untrue it is. The report below discusses the incident. I was unable to copy the photo as it is from the AP, but I have a hyper link to one of the stories with the photo at the end. Here’s the article:

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin traveled to Haiti this weekend as a guest of the Rev. Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse to spotlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the earthquake and cholera-stricken Caribbean (half an) island nation. Instead she has found herself embroiled in a scandal, accused of bringing a hair stylist on the trip to make herself look good for the cameras and “photo-ops.”.
The Associated Press transmitted a photo from Haiti of Palin captioned, “Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, center, has her hair done during a visit to a cholera treatment center set up by the NGO Samaritan’s Purse in Cabaret, Haiti, Saturday Dec. 11, 2010. Palin arrived Saturday in Haiti as part of a brief humanitarian mission. That photo and caption set off rabid attacks on Palin from the Huffington Post, the U.K.’s Daily Mail and, of course, Palingates.
The photo does indeed show Sarah Palin standing with her husband Todd as a woman whose face is obscured uses two hands to fix the hair on the right side of Palin’s head.
However, one can observe that the woman is white, with her brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing a white shirt with a bulky scarf and dark pants.
In other photos from Saturday, Todd and Sarah Palin’s white, brunette, eldest daughter Bristol, who accompanied her parents on the trip to Haiti, is wearing the exact same clothing and ponytail as the “hair stylist” in the AP photo.
That’s right, what the Palin-hating AP and others fail to report is that the “hair stylist” is Bristol Palin.
The AP photographer who sent the caption would have known that it was Bristol Palin, but by not mentioning her the AP was able to do a media hit on Palin but still be able to claim they told the “truth” with the caption.
The Palins and the Grahams in Haiti (“hair stylist” Bristol second from right):
Palin “has her hair done”:
The Daily Mail titled their story based on the AP photo and caption, Ready for Her Close Up…Sarah Palin Lands in Haiti (where they don’t care what her hair looks like)
The Huffington Post titled their attack on Palin, Reading the Pictures: Palin Does Haiti Cholera: How’s My Hair (and did AP lend a curl?). The AP reference in the headline is based on speculation in the article about whether the AP ran “scathing photo op-defying pictures of “the Sarah show?”"
The raving lunatics at Palingates titled their hit piece, BREAKING NEWS: Palin Looks Good in Haiti.
To reiterate, a daughter helps fix a loose strand of her mother’s hair, and it becomes an international scandal. Amazing.
It is a disgrace the way they tear apart this woman. They pervert the truth and will do anything to mock her. It is clear they are scared to death of her, and rightly so. She stands for so much more than the angry, holier than thou, elites and they cant take it. She deserves as much of a fair deal as Biden and Obama, but will never get it. It is up to us to make sure the media are held accountable for their lying and misrepresentation. They do not have the right to destroy good people. A link to one of the many articles that used the photo is below.

Holiday Hypocricy
by Jim on Nov.28, 2010, under Politics
I see hypocrisy regularly when I read or listen to media criticisms of conservative republicans when democrats get a free pass. I dare say most of you will not even doubt for a second the hypocrisy of the media in dealing with St Barack and St Joe. I think they went over the top this thanksgiving though when they leapt upon a verbal slip by Sarah Palin during an interview with Glen Beck. In a lengthy answer to a question, she at one time misspoke and said North Korea instead of South Korea. One time during an interview in which it was clear she knew the difference and corrected herself almost immediatey. But that didn’t matter. It was another excuse for them to excoriate and ridicule her.
Well Sarah Palin is no ordinary politician. She fired back on Facebook with a mocking summary of some of President Obama’s gaffes. I have put it below for your review. It is actually pretty clever. Well wouldn’t you know it she is now being attacked for responding to the media criticism. According to the talking heads today, she should be above the fray and just take it. She was also criticized for lacking a thick skin something a president apparently needs. (Obama has thick skin?), and dishonoring thanksgiving by responding to their attack.
This woman cannot get a break. Like her or not, she is a different kind of person and the democrats and their media allies don’t know what to do with her. I am not sure if she would be the best candidate for president, but lets give her a chance to prove or disprove it.
Many said she wasn’t ready last time. Well to my friends who say this, I ask you to look again and see if she is different today. She may or may not run. But please, put the Katie Couric story to rest…It’s as old as Obama’s address to our 57 states.
A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States
My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 daysto the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…
Of course, the paragraph above is based on a series of misstatements and verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama (I didn’t have enough time to do one for Joe Biden). YouTube links are provided just in case you doubt the accuracy of these all too human slips-of-the-tongue. If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy. I have no complaint about that. Everybody makes the occasional verbal gaffe – even news anchors.
